Touch down In London
Oct 18th
Here we go…just landed in London England. It’s amazing to be back here after 18 months and I’m sure it’s going to bring out the creative juices like before. There is so much to write about now, good and bad. Songs come out of the air like magic but they have to have a trigger point…something inside your life or outside of your life which touches you very deeply. Then the song comes and you realise that some spirit or other has picked up your inner feelings and translated them into words and music.
Mostly I have been moved by the reaction to my first bunch of live gigs in Aus playing all my own material. People have been wonderful. They have cried, they have laughed, they have cheered…and it’s all about their reaction.
Songwriting – in fact music – is something you do every day. You have to do it. You started long before anyone offered you fifty bucks. It’s not about a career. It’s a habit. A drug. An obsession.
My work now for Deaf Children Australia only serves to make me feel even luckier every day. I’m blessed with good health, good ears and a voice. I cherish all those things and feel grateful every day.
I’m now, in Aussie terms, just down the road from all the changes happening in North Africa….the arab spring whatever the fuck that is. It’s a cry for freedom. It’s impressive, it’s depressing, it’s agonisingly hard for them. It feels real and close here.
Everyone in the West is moaning. Moaning about the economy, moaning about their jobs, moaning about the state of the music industry….get some perspective here guys. Get real. Look down the road at North Africa. Look at Burma. Look at Haiti….we don’t have any problems worth moaning about.
London is sunny and beautiful. People reach out to me every day saying nice things about me. I don’t deserve it but I’m not fake enough to say that it doesn’t help me and touch me and renew me. It does all of those things.
ERAN JAMES CONFIRMED TO SUPPORT ELTON JOHN’S HUNTER VALLEY & ADELAIDE SHOWS

ERAN JAMES CONFIRMED TO SUPPORT ELTON JOHN’S HUNTER VALLEY & ADELAIDE SHOWS
PRESS RELEASE : FRIDAY 9th SEPTEMBER, 2011
An endorsement from the one and only Elton John is one like no other; and so after the great success of teaming up together for Elton’s last tour of Australia, Chugg Entertainment are today thrilled to confirm that Eran James will be supporting once again for the shows in the Hunter Valley on Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th December at Hope Estate as well as the Adelaide show at Coopers Brewery on Friday 9th December.
Eran James has come a long way from the precocious child star with a record deal at 13 and a New York studio album under his belt at 16. Now 22 and an accomplished guitarist, keyboard man and songwriter, Eran has transformed from ‘the beautiful boy with the beautiful voice’ to a strong sensitive passionate singer-songwriter in the mould of a Jackson Browne or Cat Stevens. Eran sings and writes about his extraordinary life, his personal joys and sorrows and his hopes and fears for the world’s underdogs. He puts a lot of this change down to Elton John, who spotted Eran’s potential and became his personal advisor.
Of his thoughts on Elton John, Eran James said “I regard Elton very much as a friend as well as a mentor. I supported his 2008 Aussie tour and he invited me back to the UK where I spent two very hard but fulfilling years developing as a writer and musician. When Elton decides that you have something special he really wants to bring it out. Rufus (Wainwright), Lily (Allen), me and others are the recipients of this wisdom and generosity. He encouraged me to grow as a writer and performer and to stick to the music which meant the most to me. Being back on the road with Elton is an immense pleasure.”
Don’t miss the rare opportunity to hear one of the world’s greatest pop musicians in spectacular form when the Rocket Man touches down this summer.

Whats going on?
May 21st
Oh no…. I just looked at this website… My last blog was in March!
Still no bloody internet at my new place, . Using the mobile
Well I worked at a call centre flogging internet in London for two years so I know just how full of crap they are… God I seem so angry at the moment. This is not like me.
The music has really taken the backfoot. Still havent really spoken to my Dad, its not my character but i feel i cant give in so easily this time. He needs to know what he does to me is not ok.
I think it’s good for me to blog and let it out – im not sure how far i should take it? Sharing with everyone whats really going on within… my father has really done my head in.
I love him with all my heart but I have to say I don’t like him much at the moment.
And now I’ve even got Robin nagging me from the UK to post another song and asking when the next gig is….OK OK man, I’m on it! I know he’s right but it looks like I’m a temperamental artist after all, not a telesales guru!
The worst and best of all this is that the little creative demon on my shoulder is watching me jump up and down and is whispering “There’s at least two good songs to come out of this crap Eran” – dear oh dear as my auntie would say….
My next Gig is @ The Wesley Anne ( June 2nd ) $5.00 Entry. Doors @ 8:30PM + Special guests Robert John Sedky & Bridget Pross.
250 High Street, Northcote Hill – Melbourne ( 9482 1333 )
